Singer Sarah Atereth
Captured During A Session
With Natural Light As Main Source
Sarah Atereth is a multi-talented artist and performer. As a songwriter, her lyrics are at once profound and graceful, with a keen intellect and elegant musicality. To see Sarah on stage is to see charisma in motion. Her voice and body become a dance piece, a musical instrument.
Sarah latest pop rock release of “You Wouldn’t Know How” is currently climbing the Top 40 charts and just hit Hot AC radio. Her latest dance remixes of “It Doesn’t Take Much” have taken the radio and clubs by storm worldwide. Remixers include Tracy Young (Madonna), Josh Harris (P!nk), Mike Rizzo (Deborah Cox), Solasso (Sarah’s Number One UK Hit, “Fade Away”.)
Sarah’s single, “Fade Away”, debuted at Number 1 on the UK charts, unseating Stevie Nicks’ “Dreams” Remix. “Fade Away” was the Number 1 most played song on XM Satellite Radio’s bpm station. With “Fade Away,” Sarah became a Top 40 Mainstream charting recording artist as reported by Radio & Records. “Fade Away” was her second Top Ten Billboard hit, following “Out Of My Mind,” which roared into clubs and onto the radio with smashing success. Sarah was nominated for the prestigious Winter Music Conference IDMA award for Best Breakthrough Artist for 2005 and 2006.
Sarah’s soon to be released debut album, “Beguile,” is executive produced by Rick Chertoff. Rick was responsible for the breakthrough albums of Cyndi Lauper and Joan Osborne with such classics as “Time After Time,” “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” and “One Of Us.”
While completing her degree at Columbia University, Sarah immersed herself in New York City’s art scene. She studied voice with revered faculty of the Juilliard School and dance with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre masters.
Sarah has always stood her own ground. The recording of “Beguile” is no exception. In an effort to create the album she wanted to make, Sarah co-founded her own record label, aptly titled Beguile Records. This vehicle provided Sarah the opportunity to retain her artistic integrity.
In addition to Sarah’s love of music and dance, she enjoys traveling and learning about foreign cultures first-hand. You might find her in the Church of Our Lady Before Tyn in Prague, or the Map Room in the Vatican. She is inspired by many different art forms. Her favorite movies include Lawrence Of Arabia, Cinema Paradiso and Woman In The Dunes. Sarah is an avid reader and includes A Fine Balance and Dancing On My Grave among her favorite books.
Her website, www.thesarah.com, has won over 70 web awards for artistic excellence.
